The Academy at MiraCosta is a fully accredited high school located on the campus of MiraCosta
College.At The Academy,students will take a mix of high school classes with our faculty and college
classes through MiraCosta College.High school courses will often be in small group settings to
provide the proper attention.At the same time,when taking college courses,students will meet in
small group or individual sessions with a teacher for academic tutoring to ensure students are
getting the necessary support with college courses.College classes will receive credit for BOTH high
school and future college.When finishing with The Academy,students will have earned credits to
transfer to university saving time and money.Lastly,on top of the support from The Academy staff.
students will be fully part of the campus with college IDs,access to facilities,student clubs and
educational resources (writing and math centers,health clinic,etc.).
During the application process,the admissions team will assess each student's particular level,
courses taken previously and goals.Working with the academic counselors students will then get an
Individualized Education Plan to help with the path to success.At the same time,non academic
services will be planned for students (housing,health insurance,social and educational activities and
trips).
The Academy at MiraCosta is regionally accredited by the Middle States Association and Commission
on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS).
